[Redacted] Says They’re Returning For ‘Blade Runner 2049’

***Spoilers ahead***

Director Denis Villeneuve is working with a pretty intriguing ensemble for “Blade Runner 2049” with Ryan GoslingJared Leto, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Sylvia HoeksCarla JuriMackenzie Davis and Barkhad Abdi all taking roles, but so far, we only know of one returning face from the original: Harrison Ford. But the cat is out of the bag on another character that will be back from “Blade Runner.”

Speaking with TheTRENDTalk, Edward James Olmos reveals that he’ll return as Gaff — briefly, anyway — in “Blade Runner 2049.” The vice squad cop delivered the immortal lines, “It’s too bad she won’t live. But then again, who does?” in the first film, and it sounds like he’ll be a pit stop this time around, as Gosling’s Officer K searches for Rick Deckard.

“I signed a seven page non-disclosure contract. I did, my manager did, my agent did, everybody did. I couldn’t talk about it. I couldn’t talk about it to anybody about it. Guess what? This is the first time that I’m telling the whole world, that yes, I am going to be Gaff in ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ ” Olmos said, likely sending Warner Bros. legal into a panic. “Well it’s not about Gaff, but it’s about someone who is going to try to find out certain things about us back then. My role is like it was in the original – that time I only had four scenes, in this I only have one. But again, it’s a poignant little scene.”

So, consider one secret out there, and something that adds a little more perspective to what’s coming with this film. Watch Olmos talk about his role below. [Bleeding Cool]
