One of the signs that cinemas and studios might be trying to go back to normal is the fact that we finally have an animated family film that is coming to theaters exclusively this fall, as 20th Century Studios is set to release “Ron’s Gone Wrong.”

As seen in the trailer for “Ron’s Gone Wrong,” the film tells the story of Barney, a loner middle-schooler who is desperately trying to fit in with the rest of his classmates. The problem is that he doesn’t have a robot companion that follows him around like everyone else. But when he finally does get one and he discovers his digital friend, Ron, is, well, wrong, then everyone is after the duo for fear they could ruin the status quo.
The new animated film features the vocal talents of Zach Galifianakis, Jack Dylan Grazer, Olivia Colman, Ed Helms, Justice Smith, Rob Delaney, Kylie Cantrall, Ricardo Hurtado, Marcus Scribner, and Thomas Barbusca. “Ron’s Gone Wrong” is directed by Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine with Octavio E. Rodriguez co-directing. Smith also co-wrote the feature alongside Peter Baynham.
“Ron’s Gone Wrong” hits theaters exclusively (which we have to point out since it’s not the norm, anymore) on October 22. You can watch the new trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
