Luca Guadagnino has done romance. He’s done drama. And yes, he’s definitely done horror, as well, with “Suspiria.” Now, it appears the filmmaker is looking to hop into the biopic realm for his new film about Audrey Hepburn.
According to Variety, it appears Luca Guadagnino is signed on to direct an Audrey Hepburn biopic starring none other than Rooney Mara for Apple. The untitled film is obviously going to tell the story of Hepburn, one of the most iconic performers in Hollywood history and the star of films such as “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “Roman Holiday,” and “My Fair Lady.” The film is said to be written by Michael Mitnick.
Rooney Mara is probably best known for her Oscar-nominated performances in the films “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “Carol.” She’s also been seen in films such as “The Social Network,” “Pan,” “Song to Song,” and of course, “Urban Legends: Bloody Mary.”
Guadagnino is currently putting the finishing touches on his next film, “Bones & All,” which is described as a romance-horror and stars Taylor Russell and Timothee Chalamet. That film doesn’t yet have a release date. His most recent project is the HBO series, “We Are Who We Are,” which was released in 2020. As far as films go, he’s probably best known for his award-winning drama “Call Me By Your Name,” as well as features such as “A Bigger Splash” and the aforementioned “Suspiria.”
No release date has been set for the Audrey Hepburn biopic.
