– Wes Anderson’s upcoming film, the “The Darjeeling Limited,” will open the 45 annual New York Film Festival on September 28. This finally give us a hard deadline for our sprawling 3-disc, “If I Were Wes Anderson” opus (finish the fucking thing already, Christ). Festival program director Richard Pena said, “It represents a big step for Wes. I hate to use the word ‘matured,’ but the humor and whimsy he uses is sharper, better focused and used more effectively. “The Coen brothers new film, “No Country For Old Men” will also screen in a centerpiece slot.
