Well, it was only a matter of time before Hollywood made a cinematic rendition of its recent history. But “She Said” is much more than that. Based on the book of the same name by New York Times journalists Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, the film depicts the challenges both women faced as they broke the story of sexual misconduct allegations against Harvey Weinstein and, in turn, an entire system that protects and enables abusers like him.

Zoe Kazan and Carey Mulligan star as Kantor and Twohey in the new film as they break a story that shattered decades of silence around the subject of sexual assault in Hollywood. “She Said” also stars Patricia Clarkson, Andre Braugher, Samantha Morton, Tom Pelphrey, and Adam Shapiro.
Maria Schrader, who won an Emmy for the limited series “Unorthodox,” directs “She Said.” Rebecca Lenkiewicz, who won an Oscar for “Ida,” writes the script based on Kantor and Twohey’s book. Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner produce through Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle executive produce for Annapurna Pictures.
Kantor and Twohey’s story is one of the most important of the 21st century in American culture. It sparked the #MeToo movement and continues to have massive cultural implications years later.
