'Sing Street' Actor Latest To Join The Young Han Solo Film

Whether you’re a “Star Wars” fan or not, and maybe you couldn’t care less about what Han Solo’s life was like between the ages of 18 and 24, you have to admit that the upcoming untitled Han Solo prequel film features a hell of a cast. According to Variety, the film, written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, is adding another strong actor to the cast.

Ian Kenny, best known for his role in “Sing Street,”  has joined the cast of the Han Solo film. Kenny is teaming up with the likes of Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, and the all-star cast that includes Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Michael K. Williams, and Emilia Clarke. Unfortunately, at this time, nothing is known about Kenny’s role in the film, as pretty much all “Star Wars” plot points are kept under lock and key.

For those unfamiliar with Kenny, he was last seen in the critically acclaimed “Sing Street,” where he played the school bully. While the character is completely unlikeable in the film, until he’s redeemed towards the end, Kenny stole the scenes he was in, giving his character greater nuance and sympathy instead of being just the typical bully.

The untitled Han Solo prequel is scheduled to be released May 25, 2018.
