A group of talented writers and directors come together to answer the question in “Tell It Like A Woman.” The film looks at the many challenges women face on a daily basis — highlighting both the empowering and heartbreaking aspects that accompany these complex subjects. The project garnered attention thanks to its Oscar nomination for Dianne Warren — a 14-time nominee; her song, “Applause,” is performed by actress Sofia Carson.
Lucia Bulgheroni, Silvia Carobbio, Catherine Hardwicke, Taraji P. Henson, Mipo O, Lucia Puenzo, Maria Sole Tognazzi, and Leena Yadav helm the short segments. At the same time, Krupa Ge, Shantanu Sagara, Giulia Louise Steigerwalt, and Chiara Tilesi additionally contributed as co-writers.

Tell It Like a Woman is a feature film comprised of 7 short stories whose common denominator is the representation of female protagonists. Each of these very different women faces a particular challenge in their life with extreme determination and courage that makes them stronger and more self-aware. Some of these inspirational and empowering stories, which take place all over the world, are inspired by true events, while others are narrative fiction. An all-star cast and award-winning directors come together for this poignant anthology feature shot in the US, Italy, India, and Japan. The film features the Oscar® nominated original song “Applause” with music and lyrics by Grammy and Emmy-winning songwriter Diane Warren who is a 14-time Oscar® nominee and Honorary Oscar® recipient, and is performed by singer and actress Sofia Carson.
