‘The Continental’ Trailer: The First ‘John Wick’ Spinoff Hits Peacock In September Starring Mel Gibson & Colin Woodell

After the massive success of “John Wick: Chapter 4” earlier this year, the franchise is hotter than ever before. This seems like the perfect time for Peacock to debut the first ‘Wick’ spinoff, the upcoming series “The Continental.”

As seen in the trailer for “The Continental,” the series takes place decades before the ‘Wick’ films and follows the story of a young Winston who is given the job of trying to rescue his brother from a really bad situation. Since this is the ‘Wick’ universe, you better believe that this series features all the action you could ever want, as well as a deepening of the mythology we’ve been introduced to in the main film series.

The series stars Mel Gibson, Colin Woodell, Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene. Episodes 1 and 3 of the series are directed by Albert Hughes, with Episode 2 directed by Charlotte Brandstrom.

“The Continental” debuts on Peacock on September 26, with the other two episodes debuting weekly after. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

The three-part event will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.
