'The Dink': Ben Stiller To Star Opposite Jake Johnson In Josh Greenbaum's Pickleball Comedy

For a long while, you couldn’t find Ben Stiller in front of the camera for a project. That doesn’t mean he has avoided Hollywood, as he has really grown into being more of a filmmaker at this point. But now, it appears Stiller is really ready to act more, as he has just signed on to star in a film called “The Dink.”

According to THR, Ben Stiller is on board to produce and star in a new comedy film, “The Dink.” The film is directed by Josh Greenbaum and will co-star alongside Jake Johnson, Mary Steenburgen, and Ed Harris. In the film, Johnson is set to play a former tennis pro who must do what he never thought he’d have to do: play pickleball to save a club and earn his dad’s respect.

As mentioned, this isn’t the first film project Stiller has signed on to star in recently. He has a new film, “Nutcrackers,” which is doing the festival rounds now. That film is directed by David Gordon Green. Other than that, Stiller has primarily worked behind the scenes, most notably as a director on the Apple TV+ hit series, “Severance.”

Greenbaum is probably best known for his comedy film, “Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar,” as well as recent films “Strays” and “Will & Harper.” The latter of which is a documentary that has earned rave reviews and will be released soon. He’s also attached to the “Spaceballs” sequel, though not much is really known about that now.

There’s no release date set for “The Dink,” but production is expected to begin in November.
