Mike Flanagan has had a good run of horror projects with Netflix, adapting stories from literary greats like Stephen King, Shirley Jackson, Christopher Pike and Henry James. And he’s also done original limited series like 2021’s “Midnight Mass,” too (although that one wears its King influence proudly).

Now, Flanagan returns to Netflix this Halloween with another limited series, updating Edgar Allan Poe‘s “The Fall Of The House Of Usher” for the 21st century. This time, however, he shares directing duties with his longtime cinematographer Michael Fimognari, helming four episodes a piece.

From Mike Flanagan, the creator of The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass, a wicked horror series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.
“The Fall Of The House Of Usher” stars Bruce Greenwood, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, and Kyleigh Curran. Other cast include Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, and Crystal Balint.
Executive producers on Flanagan’s new series include Trevor Macy and Flanagan through Intrepid Pictures, Emmy Grinwin, and Fimognari.
