Joe Swanberg‘s (“Drinking Buddies,” “Happy Christmas”) latest feature film is the Alaskan-set romantic feature “The Sun Never Sets,” which the filmmaker wrote and directed alongside handling editing duties on top of that. There is a bit of a love triangle going on between characters played by Dakota Fanning (“The Watchers,” “Vicious”), Jake Johnson (“New Girl,” “The Dink”), and Cory Michael Smith (“Mountainhead,” “Sentimental Value”). Others among the cast include Debby Ryan, Anna Konkle, Lamorne Morris, and Karley Sciortino.
We’re now able to share a new trailer for the pic, which will get a wide release in September after debuting next month on August 28, exclusively in Chicago.

An official synopsis for the new movie as provided by IFC:
Wendy (Fanning) believes she’s perfectly happy in her relationship until her older boyfriend, Jack (Johnson), who is divorced with children, insists they take a break to make sure she’s truly okay giving up on the idea of marriage and babies. During this time, Wendy unexpectedly runs into her ex, Chuck (Smith), who reignites her carefree, spontaneous side and suddenly seems to want a family. The three of them navigate a chaotic, confusing, and often funny relationship triangle, reminding us that the pursuit of love is beautiful and messy all at once. The film was shot on 35mm on location in Alaska.
A producing team assembled for the movie consists of Johnson, Ashleigh Snead, Swanberg, Fanning, and Smith, alongside a group of executive producers such as Kathy Gitibin Parsa, Ariana Parsa, and Dan Johnson.
