TIFF 2025: Richard Linklater’s ‘Blue Moon,’ ‘Hamlet’ With Riz Ahmed, Pete Ohs’s ‘Erupcja’ With Charli xcx Added To Slate

Fall film festival announcements are arriving by the hour. Earlier today, the NYFF revealed its main slate, and a few hours later, the Toronto International Film Festival added 55 titles to its already packed lineup. A mix of 19 world premieres and other titles celebrated at earlier festivals, these new films include performances from stars such as Riz Ahmed, Margaret Qualley, Stephen Graham, Andrea Riseborough, and, in a surprise, Charli xcx, among others.

Notably, the Charli xcx film is Pete Ohs’s “Erupcja,” co-written by Ohs, Charli, and Jeremy O. Harris. Adam Carter Rehmeier’s “Carolina Carolina” features Weaving and Kyle Gallner. Ahmed stars in Aneil Karia’s modern adaptation of “Hamlet,” which, based on its Canadian Premiere designation, appears to be a Telluride Film Festival world premiere. “Adolescence” star, co-creator, and Emmy nominee Graham joins Riseborough in Jan Komasa’s thriller “Good Boy.”

Other must-see selections include Cannes standouts “The Mysterious Gaze of the Flamingo,” “The President’s Cake,” and “Left-Handed Girl.”
