Martin Scorsese’s “Shutter Island” is set to open in a few weeks and while there have already been plenty of screenings for insider and industry types, the rest of us, will have to make do with the trailers that are already out there, and some new stills that have arrived online. Morphine were a cult sax/bass/drums trio that tore up the college airwaves during the ’90s. While they, like so many bands of the era, were snatched up by a major label, they never broke out into a broader mainstream success. For many, the band’s allure had to do with lead singer and bass slinger Mark Sandman and the folks over at Gatling Pictures are currently working on a biopic on the singer’s life. Tragically passing away after suffering a heart attack during a live performance in 1999, here’s hoping the forthcoming doc sheds some light on this overlooked musician. Teaser below.
Jeez, we keep expecting to hate on “Hot Tub Time Machine” but every time we see a new trailer or clip there are enough chuckles in there that we secretly can’t wait to sneak a flask of whiskey into the theater and laugh ourselves silly. A new one sheet has arrived and we kind of love the WTF bravado of it. This is the kind of stuff that we usually roll our eyes at, but dammit if we aren’t giggling despite ourselves. The film opens on March 26, 2010.
Well, this is weird. We can’t remember the last time we saw a red-band trailer that didn’t have boobs, but the latest for “She’s Out Of My League” manages to accomplish that feat. The surprisingly R-rated film (seriously, we didn’t realize it until we looked it up) still plays like a PG-13 teen comedy and the new trailer is essentially like the old one except with more f-bombs and Alice Eve in her underwear. That said, we’ve always felt Jay Baruchel is leading man material and there are some decent laughs in this to be had. Check it out for yourself below and color us cautiously optimistic.
