'Tony': Dominic Sessa To Star In A24's Anthony Bourdain Biopic

Last year, young actor Dominic Sessa broke out in a big way thanks to his role in the acclaimed film, “The Holdovers.” Now, it appears the actor has found his next project, a biopic, titled “Tony,” that follows the life of the famous celebrity chef, Anthony Bourdain

According to Deadline, Dominic Sessa is set to star in “Tony,” a biopic from A24 that tells the story of Anthony Bourdain. For those unfamiliar with Bourdain, he was an incredible chef who rose through the ranks of New York City establishments. Then, when he had reached the pinnacle, he began to share his story in the book “Kitchen Confidential.” That launched him into superstardom. From there, he started showing up all over the place, eventually landing various travel shows including “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.” Most of you also know that his life was tragically cut short as he died by suicide in 2018, at the age of 61.

It’s unclear how much of Bourdain’s life will be told in the new film. Sessa is a young guy, so you have to assume the bulk of the film will be Bourdain’s life as a chef in NYC, almost like a true story version of “The Bear. However, that does leave out quite a bit, as Bourdain only become more and more famous as he grew older.

Matt Johnson is on board as the director, with the script being written by Lou Howe and Todd Bartels.

It’s far too early to know when we might see “Tony” arrive in theaters. However, this is quickly becoming one of our most anticipated films.
