As we approach the end of January, it’s time to look ahead to February, and of course, Valentine’s Day. And it wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day in the film industry without a plethora of rom-coms. Prime Video has one ready to go with the upcoming film, “Upgraded.”

As seen in the trailer, “Upgraded” has all the makings of a successful rom-com. A young woman working under a demanding boss? Check. A trip to Europe for work? Check. Meeting a hunky local boy and lying to him about your job? Check. All that’s left to find out is if they all live happily ever after, and you have to assume that’s going to happen, right?
The film stars Camila Mendes, Archie Renaux, Thomas Kretschmann, Gregory Montel, Aimee Carrero, Andrew Schulz, Rachel Matthews, Lena Olin, Marisa Tomei, Fola Evans-Akingbola, Anthony Head, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson. “Upgraded” is directed by Carlson Young. The filmmaker is probably best known for her acting work, starring in a number of TV series over the year. This marks her second feature film as a director, with her debut being “The Blazing World” back in 2021.
“Upgraded” arrives on Prime Video on February 9. You can watch the trailer below.
Here’s the synopsis:
