'F--- You All: The Uwe Boll Story' Trailer: The Infamous Director Reflects On His Career Of Offending Audiences

If you are a horror fan from the early-2000s, you’re probably familiar with the infamous Uwe Boll. The filmmaker rose to prominence in the decade as the go-to guy for low-budget horror adaptations, with films like “House of the Dead,” “Alone in the Dark,” and “BloodRayne.” However, after a string of bad reviews (more like vicious reviews), the director decided to steer into controversy with a string of films that were meant to shock, offend, and generally piss people off. And now, thanks to a new documentary, we can hear from the man himself about his films and his hatred of the Hollywood system.

Fuck You All: The Uwe Boll Story” is not your typical filmmaker doc. This is fitting, as the title suggests because Boll is definitely not your typical filmmaker. Just from the trailer, even if you’re not familiar with his films, viewers can get the sense of the personality of one of the most outspoken directors of the last two decades. But you don’t just get to hear the thick German accent tell you about how great he is, and how everyone else sucks. No, the doc also features interviews with actors and other collaborators, with their own “loving” takes on the filmmaker.

If you’re wondering why the film is titled the way it is, then you’re probably not familiar with the infamous video posted by the director back in 2015, where he famously said “Fuck you all” to the industry and fans, after a failed crowdfunding campaign for “Rampage 3.” If the video doesn’t spell it out enough for you, then perhaps the description paints a clearer picture, where the director thanks those that supported his campaign, while telling the rest to “fuck their mothers incl. KICKSTARTER and all the idiots who talked me into bullshit like this.”

Obviously, ‘Fuck You All’ is not a hard-hitting exposé, aimed to take down the director who has lampooned Hitler and 9/11. But if you’re a fan of waiting for the next crazy thing to come out of Boll’s mouth, or looking for a portrait of one of the most bonkers directors of the last 20 years, then look no further. It doesn’t get crazier than Boll.
