Just in case the market hadn’t already reached vampire saturation point, along comes “High Midnight” a vampire western with the kind of b-list cast that ensures your DVD bargain bins won’t be free of toothy bloodsuckers come 2012.
William “he’ll always be Billy to us” Baldwin, Thomas Kretschmann, Ted Raimi and Kevin Weisman were reportedly already aboard when news came from production shingle Treasure Entertainment that Vincent D’Onofrio, Elizabeth “she’ll always be Liz to us” Hurley, Taylor Nichols and Emilio Rivera will also star. That’s a lot of people. Just exactly when or how director Mary Lambert (“Pet Sematary,” “Urban Legends 3”) is going to corral them all into a shoot is unclear right now, but if we have to report more vampire news, we’re kind of glad it’s of the schlocky b-movie variety. — Jessica Kiang
