Wally Pfister Eyeing Christian Bale For 'Transcendence'

nullChristopher Nolan's regular cinematographer Wally Pfister seems to have learned and mastered the art of secrecy from the helmer. Developing for most the year under the radar, and without a title, a minor shockwave hit earlier this week when it was revealed that Johnny Depp would be leading Pfister's directorial debut, which is now titled "Transcendence." Produced by Nolan and his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas, the project is being kept completely under wraps, but a few more morsels have been revealed.

The LA Times reports that the film is being shot in Los Angeles, and will feature three leads. And oh yeah, Pfister apparently has the Batman trilogy and "The Prestige" star Christian Bale in his sights for one of those roles. Of course, Bale is wanted in Hollywood for everything, and he already has David. O Russell's next picture set to shoot very early next year for a late 2013 release, and is also attached to star in Todd Field's long awaited "The Creed Of Violence" that will shoot in the new year as well. Of course, Bale and Pfister have a long and familiar working relationship, but simply put, scheduling could be an issue with "Transcendence" slated to shoot this winter.

But it seems that as we predicted, Depp won't be the only big name in the cast and certainly having the power of Nolan in your corner helps attract a certain calibre of talent. Will any of Nolan's other regular players kick the tires? We wouldn't be surprised, and it's probably not too long until we find out.
