Watch: Climb Aboard Darren Aronofsky’s ‘Noah’ With Featurette About The Ark And Lots Of New Images

Noah

Great visionaries and the studio system don’t always see eye to eye, so perhaps it wasn’t a surprise that reports surfaced in the past few months that Darren Aronofsky and Paramount weren’t on the same page when it came to “Noah.” But ultimately, it’s Aronofsky’s movie we’ll be seeing, and his intended cut, and next week it rains down in theaters. And that means the marketing department is doing their best to get people on the ark (so to speak).

So today brings with it a new featurette and a batch of stills from the forthcoming film. The promo dives into the construction of the ark itself, which Aronofsky reveals is less a boat, and more of a box. And fascinatingly, the production team built their ark to the scale described in the Bible, which certainly makes for an impressive visual. Speaking of which, the new pics offer a fresh look at the world the director has put together for his “Noah,” and no shock, it’s very carefully realized on a grand scale.

“Noah” rides the waves on March 28th.
