‘Speed’ Co-Stars Keanu Reeves & Sandra Bullock Reunite For Romantic Thriller At Amazon MGM Studios

In 1994, “Speed” not only helped cement Canadian actor Keanu Reeves with his action star status (alongside Kathryn Bigelow‘s “Point Break“) but also helped introduce audiences to Sandra Bullock, and the two are looking to reunite on an untitled project hailing from Amazon MGM Studios.

The news of the new team-up between Reeves and Bullock comes to us from The Hollywood Reporter, as they reveal the film is going to be a “propulsive” romantic thriller that is going to be penned by Noah Oppenheim. A writer who previously worked on the Natalie Portman-led biopic “Jackie” and is one of the co-creators of the Robert De Niro political thriller series “Zero Day,” which is streaming on Netflix.

However, we’ll have to wait for further plot and character details as the outlet isn’t sharing much information about the titleless movie.

Of course, Bullock’s latest genre credits include the fantastic space survival thriller “Gravity,” the “Ocean’s 11” hiest comedy spinoff “Ocean’s 8,” she had a supporting role as a fixer, Maria Beetle, in David Leitch‘s “Bullet Train,” with the hopes that the role would be expanded in potential sequels, and most recently co-starred with Channing Tatum in the action-comedy pic “The Lost City.”

Reeves will return as super-assassin John Wick for the spinoff installment “Ballerina,” starring Ana de Armas and Norman Reedus, on June 6, with “John Wick 5” officially in the works with Reeves and director Chad Stahelski attached. He also recruited Justin Lin (“Star Trek Beyond”) to direct a Netflix feature adaptation of his gruesome immortal comic book, “BRZRKR,” that has a script from Mattson Tomlin (“The Batman Part II”).

“Speed” wasn’t their only film they worked on, as the two actors previously did the fantasy romance film “The Lake House” back in 2006. We’re still waiting to hear who will ultimately end up directing the Amazon MGM Studios project.
