OK, we get it, "Deadpool" is supposed to be hilariously irreverent, flippant and quippy, but someone ought to tell Ryan Reynolds and the marketing department behind this comic book movie to relax a little bit. Speaking of those geniuses, they’ve decided to release the new “Deadpool” trailer on Christmas Day — you know that holiday when you’re really not around a computer and you’re with family instead? Meanwhile, as marketing teams are wont to do they’ve released a Chimichanga-centered teaser (saying “Chimichanga” is funny!) for this upcoming trailer and an IMAX poster that features Deadpool riding a piggyback on the shoulders of Colossus because that’s apparently both silly and cheeky too. Here’s the synopsis for the movie:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Beyond Reynolds as the exhausting “Deadpool” lead, the movie co-stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand. “Deadpool,” which hopefully isn’t as obnoxious as its Beavis & Butthead-y, aimed-at-15-year-old-boys marketing, opens February 12, 2016.
