“X-Men: Days Of Future Past” was kind of the successful version of “Terminator: Genysis.” It retconned and rewrote the future without stumbling over itself, and audiences easily followed along and seemed to dig it. Fanboys (and girls) approved as well.

So now we’re essentially on a new timeline following the young X-Men from the ’70s onward, and "X-Men: Apocalypse" jumps ahead to the 1980s, where the adventure will continue, paired with all the garish fashion and hair the decade offered. The villain this time around is Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac, and teased at the end of ‘Future Past.’ And while all your old faves are here, there are new mutants joining the ranks too.
James McAvoy, Rose Byrne, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Ben Hardy, and Lana Condor round out the cast of “X-Men: Apocalypse” which hits theaters on May 27, 2016 .
