Man, we really feel for you parents out there this fall, because there aren’t many options out there you can enjoy along with your little ones. Earlier today, Disney dropped a rather underwhelming spot for “Frozen,” and now Relativity is trying to lure you with “Free Birds,” which looks equally uninspired. Though we will say, the voice leads we would love to see pair up in an actual movie at some point.
Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson star in this thing playing two odd couple turkeys who team up and travel back in time (what?) to change the course of history (huh?) and get turkey off the Thanksgiving menu for good. So, “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Tofurkey“? We don’t know about you, but we’re not sure we want to watch a whole movie dedicated to taking the most delicious part of the holiday off the table. What’s Thanksgiving without too much turkey followed by nap in front of a rerun of “It’s A Wonderful Life“?
But more to the point, this just looks kinda awful and we don’t know what “hang on to your nuggets” means. Is this movie about chickens? We’re confused. “Free Birds” opens on November 1st.
