Bryce Dallas Howard Will Visit 'Jurassic World'

To people of a certain age, a return to “Jurassic Park,” Steven Spielberg‘s 1993 smash hit (which still plays really well today) is something to get excited for. As for us, we’ll always pretty dubious about brand extensions happening over a decade later that have no real reason for existing other than to keep merchandising dollars moving, but we’re still curious to see what “Safety Not Guaranteed” director Colin Trevorrow comes up with. And even though we’re still just under two years from this stomping into theaters, he’s starting to get his cast together.

The Wrap reports that Bryce Dallas Howard, who hasn’t been on the big screen since the 2011 doubleheader of loathsome characters in “50/50” and “The Help,” is in negotiations for a role. But don’t ask what the part is, because those details haven’t been made available. So we’ll just have to wait and see what Trevorrow and his “Safety Not Guaranteed” collaborator Derek Connolly came up with in their script.

But whatever is happening, it seems the production has overcome the woes that halted it briefly earlier this year, causing the picture to get bumped from the 2014 release calendar. 3D and underwater dinosaurs are rumored for the film that will apparently be a straight up reboot, but whether any of that is true we’ll discover on  June 12, 2015.
