We’re really looking forward to “I Give It a Year,” particularly after the first couple of trailers, which showed a lot of promise and included Minnie Driver uttering the immortal line: “I’d ruin Bieber.” The film will star a whole host of people who are hard not to like, including Stephen Merchant, Jason Flemyng, Anna Faris, Olivia Colman, Simon Baker and the aforementioned Driver. The lead roles are filled by up-and-comer Rafe Spall (who we’ve yet to see be anything short of great in anything on the big screen), and Rose Byrne, who announced to the world how hilarious she was last year in “Bridesmaids.”
So, lots of reasons to be excited about this British rom-com then, and here comes one more in the form of a clip from the movie. In it we see Rafe Spall trying to perform “Dr Quinn: Medicine Woman” during a game of charades, and due to the confusion that comes with that game, hilarity ensues. It features the best (and only) use of the word "quim" that we can remember from before or since “The Avengers” – is that word back in fashion now? – and it's also great seeing Jason Flemyng putting his foot in his mouth to a degree that usually only happens when someone asks him about “Star Wars.”
Seriously though, as rom-coms go, this looks kind of great. The film hits screens in its native U.K. on February 8th and will roll out into other international territories throughout the summer. There’s still no U.S. release date set or distributor on board as of yet, but surely based on all we’ve seen it’s only a matter of time. [DigitalSpy]
