Got a Tip?

Wyatt Russell Coyly Deflects The Chris Evans Cameo In ‘Falcon’ Question: “You Just Gotta Wait”

Wyatt Russell might be new to the Marvel Studios interview game, but he’s already a pro. Obviously, when you have such a polarizing character, such as John Walker, aka New Captain America, in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” people are going to hit him hard about spoilers and pray that Russell slips up and spills the beans about what happens at the end. And though he’s not willing to tell outright lies as Paul Bettany did in the promotion of “WandaVision,” it appears Russell is the king of coy when asked the big question about whether or not Chris Evans, aka Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, is going to show up at all.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1, Russell wasn’t asked if Chris Evans is going to show up in “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” Instead, the interviewer comes at that question another, more sneaky way, by asking if Russell has ever met Evans before.

“I think I have,” Russell said. “I don’t think I’ve ‘shook his hand’ met him, but I think I’ve walked by him somewhere and made eye contact. That counts as being a stalker, that doesn’t count as meeting anybody. But, I guess it would. [Laughs] You just gotta wait until the end of the series and then everybody will be like, ‘Oh, wow.’”

Obviously, that’s not a confirmation that Evans shows up in the series. And honestly, if Steve Rogers does make an appearance, you have to hand it to Marvel Studios for really pulling one over on fans, since Evans and everyone involved has previously made it seem like the actor isn’t ever returning to the MCU. So, if I was a betting person, I’d still put the odds at about 20% that Evans shows up. But before Russell’s comment, that would have been closer to 5%.

The penultimate episode of “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” debuts tomorrow on Disney+. And if you want to see a behind-the-scenes featurette about one aspect of last week’s episode, you can also do so below:
