Arnold Schwarzenegger Is Not Giving Up On Making More 'Terminator' Movies

Over the past few months, there have been clear indications that “The Terminator” franchise is pivoting. Back in December it was revealed that Deadpool” helmer Tim Miller had been tapped to direct a reboot that would be produced by James Cameron. Then last month came confirmation that any followups to “Terminator Genisys” had been scrapped, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s involvement in the series, with the promise of big news to come later in the year. Well, Arnie says that he’ll be back…

Speaking with Fandango, Schwarzenegger brushed aside news that he was booted out of the franchise he helped to built, and seemed confident he’d be the T-800 again down the road.

“I’m looking forward to doing another Terminator movie, yes.” he said.

“I don’t want to call it, like, fake news, like the president calls it, but I think people just write things — I have no idea why,” he continued. “Just because Paramount doesn’t want to pick up the Terminator franchise, you have 15 other studios willing to do it — that doesn’t mean the Terminator franchise is finished, right? It just means they are on their way to negotiate with another studio, but I can’t give you the details of that. They’ll announce that. But, yes, the Terminator franchise is never finished. And remember that after 2018, James Cameron is getting it back, and then it will continue on!”

Well, we’ll see how this plays out, but the actor also still claims that the forever talked about “Twins” sequel and another ‘Conan‘ movie are both still in the pipeline, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on either of those projects.
