'Halt And Catch Fire' Star Mackenzie Davis Joins 'Blade Runner 2'

Mackenzie Davis is probably the perfect example of how many actors are putting together steady careers at the moment. Immensely talented, she’s got irons in a few different fires, with one foot in the television world (“Halt and Catch Fire“), steady work in indie features (recently earning strong buzz out of Tribeca for “Always Shine“) and even landing blockbuster gigs from time to time (nabbing a small part in Ridley Scott‘s “The Martian“). And now, she’s got another big tentpole project to add to her CV.

Davis has boarded the untitled “Blade Runner” sequel joining Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks and Carla Juri. Of course, there are still no plot details, but we do know Ford’s Deckard is back, Hampton Fancher and Michael Green penned the script, and Denis Villeneuve will be directing, with Roger Deakins making everything look goddamn terrific.

Production begins next month, and “Blade Runner 2” will arrive on October 6, 2017.
