Described by some as “Serial” for television, last fall Netflix unveiled the provocative documentary series “Making A Murderer,” and it became an instant sensation, and recently earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. The series also launched a thousand internet debates about the case involving Steve Avery, and it’s not going to stop any time soon.
Netflix has announced they’ve started production on more episodes of “Making A Murderer,” with producers and directors Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos back at work on the documentary. It will continue to look at convicted murder Steven Avery, and his co-defendant, Brendan Dassey, and the ongoing legal battles, with exclusive access to Avery’s new lawyer Kathleen Zellner and Dassey’s legal team, led by Laura Nirider and Steve Drizin, plus families and others involved in the case.
Get ready for more debate as this case is hardly closed. No word yet on when the new episodes of “Making A Murderer” will debut, but 2017 is a safe bet.
