Ilya Naishuller, the director of the humorous first-person-shooter sci-fi actioner “Hardcore Henry” and the Bob Odenkirk-led action comedy “Nobody,” returns to the world of hybrid comedies with his latest effort “Heads of State,” which is heading to Prime Video on July 2.
The steamer has sent over a final trailer for “Heads of State,” that sees Idris Elba and John Cena reuniting after working together on James Gunn‘s “The Suicide Squad” as the two play the British Prime Minister and American President respectively as the pair of political leaders need to reluctantly team-up to survive multiple attacks with the help of an MI6 Agent played by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

In the action-comedy “Heads of State,” the UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Elba) and U.S. President Will Derringer (Cena) have a not-so-friendly and very public rivalry that jeopardizes their countries’ “special relationship.” But when they become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary, who proves more than a match for the two leaders’ security forces, they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other. Ultimately allied with the brilliant MI6 agent Noel Bisset (Priyanka Chopra Jonas), they must go on the run and find a way to work together long enough to thwart a global conspiracy that threatens the entire free world.
We’ll also see the pic, penned by the screenwriter team of Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, and Harrison Query, feature actors Paddy Considine, Stephen Root, Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, and Sarah Niles among the cast.
