‘The Spot’ Cast: Claire Danes & Ewan McGregor Lead Dark A24 Drama Series For Hulu

Emmy winners Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor are set to headline “The Spot,” a new drama series produced by A24 for Hulu, according to a report from Deadline. The project comes from creator and showrunner Ed Solomon (“Bill & Ted Face the Music,” “No Sudden Moves,” “Full Circle”), and marks a notable shift for Hulu toward high-stakes, auteur-driven storytelling in partnership with the acclaimed indie studio.

Danes plays a successful surgeon while McGregor will portray her husband, a school teacher, together thrust into a spiral of suspicion after the possibility arises that she may have been involved in a child’s fatal hit-and-run. As the couple’s lives unravel, they discover a web of hidden guilt, betrayal, and dark secrets that threatens to destroy everything they have built.

The series was initially announced with Kate Winslet attached to star and executive produce. Still, Winslet exited earlier this year amid creative changes, paving the way for Danes to take on the role. Production is expected to begin in 2026.

For Danes and McGregor—both seasoned television actors—this marks a strategic shift toward a gritty ensemble thriller grounded in long-form storytelling and psychological complexity, with Solomon’s track record and A24’s signature blend of genre and arthouse sensibility, “The Spot” positions itself at the intersection of prestige television and cinematic drama.
