Bradley Cooper In Line For ‘Green Lantern,’ Will Ferrell Leads ‘Neighourhood Watch,’ Michael Sheen Begins ‘The Dark Tower’ Casting Rumors

Bradley Cooper is reportedly in line for the lead in Martin Campbell’s “Green Lantern.” The film is set to begin shooting later this year in Sydney. We like him, not a bad choice. [HitFix]

Will Ferrell is set to lead comedy film “Neighborhood Watch,” the story of an urbanite’s journey as he moves to a suburban community, joins the neighborhood watch and uncovers a large conspiracy. “Wedding Crashers” director David Dobkin is in talks to helm. [Variety]

Actor Michael Sheen has revealed to his twitter fans that he has heard that Christian Bale will be playing the lead role, Roland Of Gilead, in J.J. Abrams’s “The Dark Tower.” British humour lost in translation? [Twitter]

Despite playing the lead villain in J.J. Abrams’s “Star Trek,” Eric Bana has admitted that he has never seen a “Star Trek” film and refused to do so just for his film role. He is, however, a fan of the original television series. [MTV]

Screenwriter Chris Morgan on his screen adaptation of “Gears Of War”: “It’s huge. One of the things they’re really talking about now is the budget of the film and how big of a spectacle this is going to be. My argument is, look at the underlying material. Rachel Weisz has signed on to lead indie political drama “The Whistleblower.” The film chronicles the trials of a female cop from Nebraska who exposes a U.N. cover-up of a sex trafficking scandal during her service as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. [Variety]

Kaitlin Olson has joined the cast of the romantic comedy “Leap Year.” The film follows a woman, played by Amy Adams, who goes in search of her boyfriend in Ireland so she can propose to him on Leap Day (February 29) which, according to tradition, requires him to say yes. Costarring are Bill Nighy, Adam Scott and Matthew Goode. [THR]

An image from the set of the Peter Jackson-produced “Dambusters” has been released and depicts a full scale replica of of a Lancaster bomber. The film details the story of World War Two’s famous 617 Squadron’s dam assault. [Stuff NZ]

“Gossip Girl” star Jessica Szohr has joined the cast of Alexandre Aja’s “Piranhas 3D,” a remake of the 1978 film “Piranhas.” She joins the previously announced Elisabeth Shue, Ving Rhames, Adam Scott and Richard Dreyfuss.
