Got a Tip?

‘Watchmen’ To Run 3 Hours And 25 Min On DVD; Contentious Squid Does Makes Small Appearance

Some people are already grumbling about the excessive length of Zack Snyder’s alleged carbon-copy xerox of Alan Moore’s “Watchmen” graphic novel. Those who want even more and more should be happy though. An excitable Collider write:

“While the theatrical release of ‘Watchmen’ is about 2 hours 36 minutes, Zack just told me the DVD/Blu-ray will have two versions to appease the fans that wanted more.

There will be a director’s cut on the DVD that will be 3 hours 10 minutes and another cut with ‘Tales of the Black Freighter’ that will be 3 hours 25 minutes.”

The jury is still out if the film itself is already two long as it is, but we’ll give it the benefit of the doubt, having not seen it yet. And that changed Squid ending? Well, the squid is apparently in there, [mild spoiler] but it’s just not obvious, it’s a logo! “I’m glad you caught that,” Snyder told Chud of catching a peek at the subtle reference in the film. What does it stand for exactly? A: “Sub QUantum Intrinsic Device.” Hyuck!
