According to Deadline, Elle Fanning is set to join Timothée Chalamet and Monica Barbaro in the cast of “A Complete Unknown.” This is the drama from director James Mangold about Bob Dylan’s early years. “A Complete Unknown” has been in development for years but was temporarily sidelined due to the pandemic. Then, you had Mangold accepting the directing job for “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” which meant the Bob Dylan biopic took a backseat. Now, with ‘Indy 5’ set for release this summer, it appears Mangold is ready to finally bring “A Complete Unkown” to production.

Fanning is probably best known for her most recent role, as the leading lady in the acclaimed Hulu series, “The Great.” She’s also shown up in the two “Maleficent” films and the thriller, “Neon Demon.” In “A Complete Unkown,” Fanning is set to play Sylvie Russo, a university student and artist who becomes Bob Dylan’s love interest in the early-‘60s.
