‘Superman’ Trailer: James Gunn’s Much Anticipated Superhero Reboot Arrives July 11

The premiere of James Gunn’s eagerly awaited “Superman” draws near, and, surprisingly, fans still know very little about the film’s premise. The “Guardians of the Galaxy” writer/director and his cast have successfully managed to keep much of the plot under wraps. That being said, Gunn did have this to say at last month’s Cinemacon:

“The central conflict revolves a lot around Lex Luthor’s attempts to defeat and destroy Superman…I mean, he wants to be the greatest, and suddenly this jerk comes in wearing a cape with a lantern jaw and a cocky grin, and he just takes all of the oxygen out of the room, out of the room of Earth, and it creates a burning hatred in the guy.”

Fascinating insight, but still somewhat vague. Plus, there is no elaboration on what supporting characters like Supergirl, Guy Gardner, and Hawkgirl are doing in the film. Fans must wait and see, so July 11 can’t come soon enough.
