‘F.A.S.T.’: Taylor Sheridan & WB Team For Black Ops Crime Thriller Starring Brandon Sklenar Releasing April 2027

Taylor Sheridan has been spending the last couple of years cementing his repeating as one of the kings of television with what many would consider an empire at Paramount Network with shows such as “Yellowstone, “Lioness,” “1923,” “Tulsa King,” “Mayor of Kingstown,” and much more. He’s now returning to the world of feature films with “F.A.S.T.” at Warner Bros., and the project is already slated to be released on April 23, 2027.

Variety is sharing those details about “F.A.S.T.,” including that “1923” director Ben Richardson and star Brandon Sklenar are attached as Sheridan will produce and, of course, write the crime thriller’s screenplay that he wrote before his overall deal with Paramount.

The synopsis for “F.A.S.T.” as reported by the outlet:

“A former special forces commando who is tapped by drug enforcement officials to lead a black op strike team against CIA-protected drug dealers.”

“The breadth of Taylor Sheridan’s body of work is simply astounding and unparalleled in sheer excellence and consistent quality, and we could not be more honored to be making this film with him,” Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group’s co-chairs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy said in a statement.

De Luca and Abdy are making major industry moves that have benefited audiences and their bosses as both “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie” have done amazing business at the box office. Whispers and gossip among industry insiders of their incoming firings sound almost laughable at this point, given all the high-profile projects they’re bringing to the studio, including upcoming films with massive stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise.

Sheridan first made his major stamp in Hollywood as a screenwriter by penning the scripts for “Sicario,” “Hell or High Water,” and the revenge thriller “Wind River,” the latter being his big feature directorial before tackling television and the Angelina Jolie-led flick “Those Who Wish Me Dead.”

Given Sheridan’s track record of big-name casts in both projects on the big and small screen, we’ll be very interested to see who ends up getting paired up with in “F.A.S.T.,” as the project is looking to be moving quickly into production.
