Can you believe it? We’re already halfway through February in 2023 and we do not yet know who will be taking over the role of James Bond in future films. What is taking so long, Barbara Broccoli? Kidding aside, the seemingly never-ending discussion about who will be the next 007 seems to have been focused on Aaron Taylor-Johnson, as of late, as it was reported that he met with producers about the role. But yet, we still have no idea if he will put on the tux and drink martinis in the future. That said, Taylor-Johnson is just excited to be in the conversation.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked about all of the online chatter about him being the front-runner for the James Bond role. Of course, he’s not going to spill any details about the status of the situation, but he’s not denying it either. In fact, Taylor-Johnson is happy that a lot of the fan discussion seems to be pretty positive.
“It’s flattering,” said Taylor-Johnson about the Bond rumors. “You can have something really positive [written about you], but you can also have something really negative that can circulate. You just want to stay in your lane, stay grounded, stay around the people that you love and love you back, and stay in that world. Because the moment you start believing the shit people say about you, you’ve lost your fucking mind. You’ve lost it.”

It would appear that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is really soaking up the fact that recent rumors about his acting career have been largely positive. Obviously, he would likely take on the role of Bond if offered to him, as he seems to be at the very specific level of his career where he could reap some major benefits from being Bond, in much the same way Daniel Craig was able to do years and years ago.
Of course, we don’t know if Taylor-Johnson will ultimately get the call from Barbara Broccoli. Even if he doesn’t, things are going just fine for him. He has two major films in the works, with his role in “The Fall Guy” and what could be a major franchise in “Kraven the Hunter.” The latter of which is expected to arrive in theaters in October.
