Just over a decade ago, Al Gore rocked the world with “An Inconvenient Truth,” his eye-opening lecture about the crisis of global warming. It’d be nice to say that people listened, but they haven’t really, and now he’s back with “An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power,” which brings more hard facts that deniers are going to be hard pressed to ignore.
The new film finds Gore once again putting a spotlight on the fragile state of the planet, and the very real consequences it’s going to have on all of us if change doesn’t happen — and hopefully, it’s not too late. Here’s the official synopsis:
A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought the climate crisis into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Former Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight, traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant — as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
“An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power” opens on July 28th.
