When it was originally announced that Alana Haim would star in Paul Thomas Anderson’s most recent film, “Licorice Pizza,” folks were a bit skeptical of her acting chops considering she’s best known as a musician in the band Haim. However, those doubts were proven wrong when the film came out and Haim turned in a great performance. Now, it appears the musician-turned-actor has lined up two more high profile projects.

According to THR, Alana Haim has signed on to two films that will shoot back-to-back. The first film is “The Mastermind,” directed by Kelly Reichardt, where Haim will co-star with Josh O’Connor. Then, after that gig, she’ll work on “The Drama,” directed by Kristoffer Borgli, where she’ll co-star with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. Those are two pretty great gigs for Haim, huh?
“The Mastermind” is described as an art heist drama set during the Vietnam War and the beginning of the Women’s Liberation movement. “The Drama,” on the other hand, tells the story of a couple (Zendaya and Pattinson) on the verge of getting married. Their relationship is derailed when there are unexpected revelations that change how one person in the couple changes how they view the other.
As mentioned, Haim broke out in a big way on screen thanks to her starring role in “Licorice Pizza.” That film is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who has a history with Haim, as he has directed a number of the band’s music videos.
