Amazon MGM Lands Isle Of Man Tourist Trophy Motorcycle Race Movie & Docuseries; Channing Tatum To Star, Brad Pitt To Produce Via Plan B

F1” hasn’t even hit theaters yet, and Brad Pitt already has his eyes set on another racing pic—albeit through his production banner, Plan B.

Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios has landed quite a buzzy package: a film and docuseries about the legendary Isle of Man Tourist Trophy motorcycle race.  Channing Tatum will star in the film, which he also produces with his longtime producing partner Reid Carolin via their Free Association banner.  Carolin also directs the film, his follow-up to 2022’s “Dog,” and co-writes the still-untitled script with Jason Keller and Bryan Johnson. Other producers include Pitt via Plan B and Entertainment 360‘s Guymon Casady.

As for the docuseries, it’ll cover last year’s TT race, with exclusive access to its competitors thanks to a deal between the producers and the event promoters. It’s another Free Association, Plan B, and Entertainment 360 collaboration, with sports doc producer Box to Box Films and Mediawan also on board, in participation with Entourage Ventures.  The docuseries will a 4 45-minute episode run that includes interviews with participants, promoters, and fans, as well as a deep dive into the TT’s history.

But why do Tatum, Pitt, and Carolin have such an interest in a feature film about a super-exclusive motorcycle race in Brittany? Well, it’s high-octane entertainment, for one.  But the Isle Of Man TT is older than Formula 1, World Endurance, and MotoGP: it’s a one-of-a-kind race with a unique history and arguably the apex of global motorcycle racing.  It was also very hard to experience before 2022, when promoters first started livestreaming the event through their OTT platform, TT+. Now the rce is more popular than ever, and Pitt & co. want to cash in. That sounds like a worthy follow-up to “F1,” no?

Tatum and Carolin’s relationship goes back over a decade, all the way back to the first “Magic Film” in 2012; Tatum starred in that one, while Carolin wrote the script and produced.  They’ve worked closely together ever since, and it’s no surprise Amazon MGM landed this project, as the studio produced Carolin’s feature debut “Dog” before the Amazon-MGM merger.

Meanwhile, Pitt and Plan B show no signs of slowing down after “F1” hits theaters.  Advance word on the film is highly positive, but it’s not the only thing Pitt’s banner has in store for 2025: “Anemone” and “Hedda” also hit theaters later this year.  Other titles for Plan B this year include Netflix‘s “Adolescence” and Bong Joon-Ho‘s “Mickey 17.” “F1” hits theaters on June 25, courtesy of Warner Bros. and Apple Original Films.
