Governator Also Packaging A Comic Book Movie That Will Be Announced Very Soon
The Governator’s reign in office is over, and the last action hero is gearing up to return to the big screen. Earlier this year, the actor revealed that he was beginning to look over scripts including one that many speculated was the long brewing WWII pic “With Wings As Eagles” but it turns out the offers have been flooding.
TheArnoldFans recently attended the Arnold Seminar, a meet-and-greet-and-chat of sorts that’s held prior to the Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition. And Schwarzenegger was feeling particularly chatty. He revealed he’s gotten over fifteen offers from studios for various projects including a Terminator movie, remakes of “Predator” and “The Running Man” and more.
“Well, first of all it’s more like 15 films, obvious ones from ‘The Terminator’ to remakes of ‘Predator’ and ‘The Running Man’ and all of those things. Then also a lot of original stuff too. But I am also packaging a comic book character right now. I’m going to announce that sometime by the end of March or the beginning of April.”
While it’s no surprise that the studios want Arnie back in a movie reboot/remake/sequel to a title from the actor’s golden days as an action star, we’re definitely curious what comic book character Arnie could be putting together. Surprisingly, that’s one arena the actor never really dipped his toes in. Of course, he was Mr. Freeze in the regrettable “Batman & Robin” but he’s never fronted a major comic character and we presume many comic sites today will be knocking around speculation as to who it could be. As for “The Terminator,” it was recently reported that Universal was circling the franchise as a potential vehicle for “Fast & Furious” director Justin Lin — probably a pretty good guess that they might be feeling out Arnie for a possible return.
As “The Expendables” and “Red” proved last year, moviegoers seem to love watching withered geezers make things explode, and we can only imagine the 63-year old Schwarzenegger’s mailbox is being flooded with scripts and treatments. So what the hell, we have two ideas: “Commando 2” — Alyssa Milano reprises her role as Jenny and her wedding day is interrupted as she is once again taken hostage. John Matrix returns to kick much ass. Or how about “Kindergarten Cop 2: The Graduation“? We think that one explains itself.
