‘Assassin’s Creed’: Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris & Corrado Invernizzi Join Netflix Reboot Series

Netflix is behind a new series reboot of “Assassin’s Creed,” based on the prolific Ubisoft video game franchise, which mixes sci-fi elements as characters explore their ancestors through advanced technology, who just happen to be assassins from various points in history and across different locations, depending on the game iteration. Thankfully, we can share the announcement of more actors joining the anticipated streaming project.

We’ve learned from the streaming service that Noomi Rapace (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”) and Sean Harris (“Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation”), who appeared together in Ridley Scott‘s “Prometheus,” have joined the new “Assassin’s Creed” series alongside Ramzy Bedia (“Of Money & Blood”), and Corrado Invernizzi (“Indiana Jones & the Dial of Destiny”).

These four new additions to the cast will star with previously announced names such as Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, and Tanzyn Crawford.

An official logline for the show was provided by Netflix:

“Assassin’s Creed” is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions, one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will. The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.

Roberto Patino (“DMZ,” “Westworld,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and David Wiener (“Halo,” “Homecoming,” “The Killing”) are set as showrunners and part of the executive producer team that also consists of Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.

Of course, this won’t be the first live-action version of “Assassin’s Creed,” as the feature film adaptation starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard was released in 2016, directed by Justin Kurzel. We’ll just have to wait to see what exactly the angle is going to be with the new series.
