Watch Oscars Acceptance Speeches From Last Night’s 98th Academy Awards Ceremony

On Sunday, at the Oscars, statues were being handed out, and as expected, there was a slew of passionate and heartwarming acceptance speeches throughout the night for various wins at the 98th Academy Awards.

Of course, the big winner of the night was Paul Thomas Anderson and his film “One Battle After Another,” walking away with six statues, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Three of those awards went to Anderson. The first winner of the new category of Best Casting went to casting director Cassandra Kulukundis. One of the more shocking aspects was that presenter Kieran Culkin ended up accepting Sean Penn‘s Best Supporting Actor Oscar statue for his performance in “One Battle After Another” after the actor was a no-show for the ceremony (said to be en route to Ukraine).

Another impressive win was with “Sinners” cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, who became the first woman to win the award, breaking the glass ceiling. Beating out a very competitive year of nominees. Other wins for the mega-popular horror flick were Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler, and Best Original Score, with composer Ludwig Göransson nabbing the award.

Some of the other speeches, for big wins, include Best Actress winner Jessie Buckley for “Hamnet,” Amy Madigan landing Best Supporting Actress for “Weapons,” and the Korean culture-infused animated flick “KPop Demon Hunters” breaking more barriers, winning both Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song.
