Juggling a career and pursuing a passion is no easy feat, but the upcoming HBO comedy takes things a step further with “Barry.” Finally giving the terrific Bill Hader the kind of leading man role we’ve been hoping for, the series is one of our most anticipated new offerings of the year.
Co-starring Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler, the premise is pretty simple: a hitman, stuck in a rut, finds new inspiration when he stumbles upon an acting class. The problem? He can’t quite let go of his old life. Here’s the official synopsis:
BARRY is a dark comedy starring Bill Hader as a depressed, low-rent hitman from the Midwest. Lonely and dissatisfied in his life, he reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an aspiring actor. Barry follows his “mark” into an acting class and ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the LA theater scene. He wants to start a new life as an actor, but his criminal past won’t let him walk away — can he find a way to balance both worlds?
“Barry” arrives on March 25th.
