The Farrelly Brothers are comedy legends. Sure, not all of their films are gold, but they’ve made some of the most iconic comedies ever. But they haven’t made a film together in a decade (their last was “Dumb and Dumber To”). Thankfully, that’s about to change with their upcoming film, “Dear Santa.”

We finally got our first look at “Dear Santa” thanks to Entertainment Weekly, and in the pictures and interview, we get a sense of what exactly the Farrellys are bringing with their Christmas comedy. The film tells the story of a young boy who wants to prove that Santa is real. So, his plan is to write a letter to Santa and invite him to prove that he’s real. Unfortunately, the boy is terrible at spelling and accidentally sends the letter to Satan instead of Santa. Hilarity ensues.
Now, who do you get to play Satan in a Christmas comedy? Well, the Farrellys found the only person who could probably do it right—Jack Black.

“Jack is just that guy that with his arching eyebrows and his faces and all that, there’s a little bit of mischievous to him at all times, but he’s eminently likable, and that’s just Jack,” said Bobby Farrelly. “We never wanted to make it a horror movie or something like that. We wanted it to be comical. So it was a delicate ball of playing this iconic character but doing it in a way that the audience can have some fun with it. And Jack was the perfect guy.”
Will “Dear Santa” rank as one of the best comedies from the Farrellys? We’ll have to wait and see when the film finally arrives on streaming on November 25. You can see the first-look photos below:
