Tom Cruise and Doug Liman have been linked together on a number of projects since the release of their last collaboration, “American Made.” However, it appears the duo have finally landed on the project that will bring them back together, a supernatural thriller, “Deeper.”
According to Showbiz411, Doug Liman said that he is working with Tom Cruise on a “scary” movie, “Deeper.” Not much is known about the film other than the fact that it is based on a spec script by Max Landis and follows a former astronaut who is hired to join an expedition to explore a new trench deep in the ocean. As you might suspect, once down there, things get a bit crazy.
Liman said the reason why he wants to do a “scary” movie is because he’s “never done one and neither has Tom Cruise.”
Obviously, it’s still too soon to know when we might see “Deeper” arrive in theaters. Over the past couple of years, Tom Cruise has signed on to a number of projects in various stages of development, from “Top Gun 3” to “Days of Thunder 2” and a space-set film with the aforementioned Liman.
So, will “Deeper” be the next film that Cruise does? We don’t really know. But it does appear that this is now the latest film to be added to the schedule for Cruise and Liman. We’ll just have to wait and see what comes first.
