'Fingernails': Jeremy Allen White Joins Jessie Buckley & Riz Ahmed In Upcoming Apple Original Film

Jeremy Allen White continues to add new projects to his schedule before he shoots the next season of “The Bear.” Last week, the actor joined the cast of A24‘s upcoming wrestling family biopic “The Iron Claw.” This week, White joins an upcoming Apple Original Films movie from up-and-coming director, Christos Nikou.

Deadline reports that White joins Jessie Buckley and Riz Ahmed in “Fingernails,” Nikou’s follow-up to this 2020 film “Apples.” And like “Apples,” “Fingernails” continues the Greek director’s slanted approach to sci-fi. The new movie follows Buckley and White as a couple in a certified love relationship, as verified by a test that measures whether or not couples are actually in love from an institution run by Ahmed.

Nikou co-writes “Fingernails” with Stavros Raptis and Sam Steiner. He’s fresh off “Apples” being Greece’s official Oscar entry last year after the film’s successful world premiere at the 2021 Venice Film Festival.

White also has Robinson Devor‘s hobo adventure “You Can’t Win” on deck before he returns to “The Bear.” As for Buckley, “Women Talking” gets a limited theatrical release on December 2. Ahmed is currently working on Netflix‘s animated fantasy adventure “Nimona.”

So, after 2022 saw “The Bear” break out, expect 2023 to be an even bigger year for Jeremy Allen White. All of his upcoming projects sound super intriguing.
