While Berlin gears up to take place in about a week, with SXSW following next month, all eyes are on Cannes in May. Over the next couple of months, rumor, speculation and, eventually, official confirmation will arrive about who will be making the trek to the Croisette. Walter Salles' "On The Road" was the first movie this year to get the ball rolling on the possibility of a red carpet appearance, and now a Korean auteur looks primed to make his way back to France.
Film Business Asia (via ONTD) has dropped the first look at Isabelle Huppert in Hong Sang-Soo's forthcoming "In Another Country." This is the helmer's first project with an international star in the lead, and should bring the arthouse fave some further attention. As for what it's all about? Those details are under wraps, but the mostly English lanugage film co-stars Yu Jun-Sang — star of Hong's "Hahaha" — and is said to be centered on five characters in a small seaside town three hours from Seoul.
Currently the project is in post-production, and buyers at the European Film Market this month will be the first to see footage. The movie is aiming to be completed in time for the Cannes Film Festival in May where the helmer is a regular fixture, having previously premiered "Woman Is The Future Of Man," "Tale Of Cinema" and "Hahaha."
