Gambit actor Channing Tatum has been hyping up the Russo Brothers‘ “Avengers: Doomsday” and now is adding to that by suggesting the MCU Multiverse event film will be fifty times as exciting as the Blade cameo in “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Prepping fans for not being ready for what Marvel has in store for them.
Stopping short of explaining why fans will lose their minds over the sequel, Tatum talked to Entertainment Tonight while promoting his latest film, “Roofman,” and said, “It’s gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears, like in the way that I knew when Blade walks on screen in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’…It’s that, times like 50.”
What he’s likely referring to is that huge crossover between “X-Men” characters (some set photos have teased comic accurate Sentinel robots might be showing up as well), which will be the first time (outside of mutant characters Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, first appearing in “Avengers: Age of Ultron“) that the mutants will be interacting not only with the Avengers but with “Fantastic Four” members as well (hinted at previously by Nightcrawler actor Alan Cumming).
We don’t exactly know the specifics of how mutants will factor into the film, but we also don’t know what happens to these mutants with Jake Schreier‘s “X-Men” reboot in the works, and if we’ll see more of Tatum’s Gambit beyond “Avengers: Secret Wars” as there has been talk of a franchise-wide “reset.”
The aforementioned new Tatum film “Roofman” is heading to theaters on October 10.
