We’ll start off this Susanne Bier post with the question we’ve been asking in the last few posts about the Danish helmer—where’s “Serena” starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence? Even as the filmmaker keeps lining up projects—”Mary Queen Of Scots,” “The Rules Of Inheritance,” “This Beautiful Life“—there has been pretty much nothing about the Depression-era drama, even though it wrapped ages ago. But whatever the status of that picture, Bier keeps piling on new projects to her slate.
The latest is “A Second Chance,” which will find her teaming with “Game Of Thrones” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and returning to her career-making stomping ground of intense dramas. Longtime collaborator Anders Thomas Jensen (“Open Hearts,” “After The Wedding,” “In A Better World,” “Love Is All You Need“) has penned the tale that will explore how far human beings are willing to go when tragedy blurs the line between the just and unjust. But as far as exact plot details go, none are forthcoming just yet.
Nor is it clear when this might shoot either, as the actor’s window for moviemaking tends to be limited thanks to his commitments to the HBO hit. But the movie is being shopped around at AFM next month and if it drums up the interest it needs to, perhaps it’ll be rolling the next time he has a break from Westeros. [Deadline]
